India is facing a national crisis because Covid cases are sky high and new strains are emerging. A lot of young people are suddenly getting hospitalised and doctors are detecting neurological and brain damage in patients.Covishield has been ineffective against the South African variant. Things will get worse in the next 15-20 days as the impact of election rallies in 4 states will be seen. Under these circumstances, a physical CLAT should not be held for the next 6 months at least. Thus, an online CLAT is the only option. The LSAT model can be followed.
We can postpone it for the time being. After the NLAT fiasco, I don't think CLAT should be held online.
NLAT was not a fiasco. Rather, it was deliberately sabotaged by vested interests, who were egged on by Legally India. NLAT had a very transparent system, but the problem happened when some self-appointed SJWs complained about incompatibility with Mac and forced NLAT to disable anti-cheating mechanisms. Here we see the great irony. These SJWs talk about access, but were complaining about MacBooks and iPads, which are expensive and owned by the rich (unlike Windows and Android devices, which are cheaper).
Awww...did someone call your precious NLAT for what it had been, such as the Supreme Court? People still ended up being cheated out of half of the fees of that exam. If you want to give online exams, give LSAT and go to Jindal. Nobody is stopping you. The entrance exam of public universities in this country cannot be fully online from home, so long as there are existing problems of access.
