As far as we understand, the bar exam had always previously been an open-book exam.
Imagine actually having to study for the bar exam. Until now, people have always given this exam after partying all day previously on the pretext of 'preparing' for it. LOLOL
This is a highly regressive decision. When will these people realise that studying or practising law doesn't have anything to do with rote learning?
Kian ,this is a very important development and deserves a proper new story.
It was closed book during Gopal's time. Manan made it open book and reduced the exam to a joke. Good to see sense prevailing.
No, it wasn't. I gave the very first bar exam myself. It used to be open book from its inception. In fact, we had been told that the Rainmaker modules would be where all the questions would come from. And they did.
Make the exam tougher as well. The pass rates in foreign bar exams is between 10 to 40 %. It should be like that here as well. Those who fail can do other jobs.
A lot of lawyers who will never see the inside of a court also have to pass the bar exam. Having an arbitrary standard like that doesn't help, especially when the legal education system in the country is a joke
