The ninth All India Bar Examination (AIBE IX) has been postponed by almost three months to the new “tentative” date of 6 March 2016, from the originally announced 13 December 2015 exam date.
The online registration for AIBE IX began on 2 September 2015 and the registration deadline was 12 November, according to the bar exam’s official website. But now the AIBE website states that the registration process on the website “has not been working” therefore the registration deadline will be extended to 10 February 2016.
One notification on the website states:
“Registration process AIBE9 is not working due to technical glitch. It will work perfectly by 10th Nov 2015. Considering we[sic.] above inconvenience and timelag we are most likely to extend the date for registration for AIBE – IX.”
Another notification announces the new deadline for registration as 10 February and the new date for the exam as “tentatively” 6 March 2016, with the final schedule “to be updated soon”.
The BCI has consistently run behind its original AIBE schedule and the last delay in conducting the exam extended to over two months.
Full Disclosure: BCI chairman Manan Kumar Mishra has sent a legal notice to Legally India for its story about the BCI’s tender for the contract to run AIBE V. Legally India has responded to Mishra’s notice.
