Rachika Sahay moves back from in-house to private practice

Former Trilegal of counsel Rachika Sahay, who has been power company Ostro Energy’s general counsel (GC) in May 2015, has joined HSA Advocates as a partner.

Sahay had regularly been working with HSA while at Ostro, on such deals such as the sale of wind turbines in Telangana in 2016.

In April, Ostro was bought by Re-New Power Ventures for $1.66bn, which Trilegal and Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas had acted on.

The 2005 NLIU Bhopal graduate had started her career at Trilegal, followed by a Master’s degree at the London School of Economics in 2007, moving in-house to gas services company Weatherford as sole India legal counsel in 2014.

In December 2016, we had interviewed Sahay about her role and the energy sector.

She is HSA Advocates 35th partner, including associate partners.
