NLSIU Bangalore 2003 graduate Mukund Dhar was made up in White & Case’s 18-strong round of partnership promotions on Friday.
London-based Dhar was named a partner in the firm’s global project finance practice, according to its press release, which added that he is dual qualified in India and England and Wales, and advises sponsors, developers, utilities companies and lenders on international projects, project financings and acquisitions.
The promotions are effective 1 January 2014 and Dhar will relocate to the firm’s Johannesburg office in January. He is one of nine partners made up in the Europe, the Middle East and Africa region.
After graduating from NLSIU, he was an associate at Amarchand Mangaldas Delhi until 2006 and a senior associate at the firm for another nine months before he moved to White & Case as an associate.
In October last year White & Case elected 28 new partners, including non-Indian lawyers in the firm’s India practice Raj Gandesha and Nandakumar Ponniya.

Maybe moving to Jo'burg is a sign of ambition, since he would stand a better chance of heading that office than London or Singapore.
