In a recent turn of events, a (recently) retired judge has been quite vocal about his less-than-flattering assessments of the current state of affairs. It raises a pertinent question: is it fitting for someone who received a farewell akin to a messiah's to engage in such overt oppositional rhetoric? Particularly when one considers his past close ties with the Gandhis during his tenure as a lawyer?

Shouldn't retired judges, known for their expertise in the law, consider limiting their public expressions of opinions to preserve the perception of impartiality and uphold the integrity of the legal system?
Yes there was a then β€œSitting’ judge of the Kerala High Court who made casteist remarks, he had stated that Brahmins are the most superior caste present in India. The Hon’ble Judge you are talking about is the best High Court judge one could ask for and we know how he was prevented from getting a well deserved promotion to the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India.

In continuation of the above comment. This is where the judge finally went after retirement Lol. The OP has just showcased his/her hypocrisy.
What does this Kerala HC judge have anything whatsoever to do with OP's question?
Like the OP said judges need to be neutral but he is highlighting the case of a very honest judge and ignoring other RW judges who made similar speeches like I highlighted during their judgeship tenure. Double standards of the OP.
And what closeness to the Gandhis?

Are you also a victim of whatsaap university?

And even if he represented them in his capacity as a lawyer, how is that an issue?

u u lalit repped tadipar but that didn't stop him from being arguably the best cji in years.
