Hi. Can we have information sourced for listing all good Indian Universities for LLM. Want to pursue academia as career option. I am giving importance to two year LLM vis-a-vis one year at NLUs. Please list out opinions and suggestions in this regard.

Thanks
An Indian LLM is not respected, so go for a double degree where you get an Indian and an overseas LLM. Jindal offers it, possibly NLSIU and NALSAR too. Alternatively, consider an MBA from IIM or even an MA from JNU or TISS (f you are math-phobic). These degrees are respected more than LLMs.

There are many MA programmes at JNU. List here. An MA in pol science should be easy for lawyers. You can choose a constitution-related topic for your thesis. An MA from JNU also opens doors for PhDs abroad. JNU has a big alumni cabal in universities all over the world.

Bunch of false claims here. NLSIU and NALSAR offer only their own LLMs. Jindal's LLM is anything but respected. And as usual, people here will keep advising others randomly to MBAs without rhyme or reason.
Buddy, I was talking about dual degree LLMs. Keep shut if you don't understand.

Jindal Global Law School
The dual LLB/LLM degree program with Jindal Global Law School offers students beginning their degrees in India the opportunity to finish their studies at Fletcher and earn an LLM.

The two dual degree programs include the five-year BA, LLB (Hons)/LLM and BBA, LLB (Hons)/LLM degree programs, enabling students to follow the Jindal BA, LLB (Hons) and BBA, LLB (Hons) programs for four years, and follow the Fletcher LLM program for one year, and obtain the BA, LLB (Hons) or BBA, LLB (Hons) from Jindal and the LLM from Fletcher. Additionally, a three-year LLB/LLM degree program designed for students with prior bachelor’s degrees, enables students to follow the Jindal LLB program for two years, and follow the Fletcher LLM program for one year, and obtain the LLB from Jindal and the LLM from Fletcher.

Interested students should work with the international office at Jindal to coordinate their Fletcher application. Please note that the Fletcher LLM will not qualify students to sit for U.S. bar exams.

The Gifted Programme
--------------------

The Global Immersion Fellowship for Talent & Educational Development (GIFTED) Programme provides a unique opportunity for students enrolled in our LL.M. programme to pursue international education in India with defined pathways to the LL.M. programme at our renowned partner universities. At present, the participating law schools are:

- School of Law, Texas A&M University
- Maurer School of Law, Indiana University

Selected students spend their Fall semester at JGLS and complete all compulsory courses and then move to the partner university in the Spring semester. Upon successful completion of the programme, the student will be awarded a dual LL.M. degree (each from JGU & the partner university respectively). The selected students will have an opportunity to complete two LL.M. s in one year.

Jgls-Brunel Dual Ll.M. Programme
---------------------------------

The JGLS-Brunel Dual LL.M. collaboration provides a unique opportunity for JGLS students to secure two LL.M. degrees. The selected students spend one year at JGLS and another year of study at Brunel Law School to pursue the Masters of Law (LL.M.) programme.

Jgls - Qmul 1+1 Arrangement
---------------------------

The JGLS – QMUL 1+1 Collaboration provides a unique opportunity for JGLS students to secure two LL.M. degrees. The selected students spend one year at JGLS and another year of study at the Queen Mary University of London to pursue the Masters of Law (LL.M.) programme.

Yes, all of those are just a waste of money and mostly for show. JGLS degrees are not considered respected anywhere outside JGLS, even if it's got the stamp of foreign universities. These don't have the rigour or quality of the foreign LLMs at all, but are still highly expensive.
Looks like admissions and outreach office regularly monitors this thread
IIT KGP's law school has got a decent 2 year LLM programme. Azim Premji's LLM is 1 year, but that's another good option. The Daksh Fellowship for LLM is another good option.
Azim Premji? God no! Much better to go to an NLU or JNU than there!
Avoid Jindal. Scores of post here highlighting the problems with the said law school.
Tell me one Indian college where LLM students are not called Lallams. I don't think there is any hope for a no named pvt college grad for non-lit this entire country anymore. I've given up hope.
It does not matter what you're called by people who don't matter in your life. You are not defined by that. You are what you make of yourself.

Because they don't care what you think about individuals. They do care if you are speaking harsh truths about the institution to the extent of trying to put a positive spin on it. That's how PR teams operate.
@Mod: You people are just trying to put Kian out of business and hauled to court, aren't you? Redact the freaking individual names, for Christ's sake!
