GNLU’s secretive Day Zero yields 13 jobs from Amarchand, Trilegal, JSA

GNLU Gandhinagar, which has placed at least 13 fourth-year students with Amarchand, Trilegal and JSA to start in 2015, refused to divulge figures for its Day Zero recruitments which were completed on 11 April.

The law school’s faculty coordinator for recruitments Vallari Solanki told Legally India that it has been GNLU’s policy for the last few years to keep recruitment details confidential.

Amarchand Mangaldas made nine offers to the batch graduating in 2015, including two pre-placement offers (PPO), Trilegal made three and JSA made one, the firms confirmed to Legally India.

Khaitan & Co, which conducted Skype interviews for the batch, did not make any offers this year. Luthra & Luthra did not visit GNLU’s campus.

GNLU vice chancellor Bimal Patel has not responded to repeated calls and messages for comment since yesterday.

Solanki said that due to the college being closed for polls today, she could not approach the law school’s administration for any decision on whether it would confirm or disclose figures before tomorrow.

GNLU’s 2013 batch was an early-mover for Day Zero in 2012, raking up 16 offers by 12 April. The law school did not transparently disclose Day Zero and final recruitment figures last year too.

Fourth year recruitment efforts this year for 2015 graduates at Nalsar Hyderabad have yielded 29 confirmed jobs, 27 job offers at NUJS Kolkata, 10 confirmed jobs at NLU Delhi, 12 offers at NLU Jodhpur, and 33 jobs at NLSIU Bangalore – all those law schools voluntarily disclosed or confirmed the figures.

CNLU Patna has had a bleak final year recruitment season and no Day Zero, as students blamed the law school’s administration for the dismal placements.
