I have been seeing a lot of posts (on Reddit and here) about the admin issues regarding them coming in the way of students and contributing (probably) to the declining placements. I have been really freaked out over this and am seriously considering going for another attempt (partial drop), so some honest piece of information would be much appreciated. Thank you.

P.S. - I have seen some posts where it was mentioned that in the last DayZ, AZB was the only T1 to come. I have also heard that Khaitan and CAM have just avoided the DayZ for two years now (I may be misguided) but have recruited from lower ranked NLUs (not to discredit the people there, just curious about this incongruency), is there any specific reason for all this? Also, since the college hasn't really released placement reports for quite some time now, it gets difficult to find out what's actually the scene there.

Hi, I was wondering whether choosing a Macbook would prove to be detrimental opposed to a Windows laptop as I have heard that the lack of ports or the OS itself can cause issues during presentations or with softwares. I have also heard that MS Office on Mac has comparatively lesser features than Windows.

I really appreciate the great battery life and build quality that Macbooks offer, however these compatibility issues (supposedly) scare me a bit. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

P.S. - Do softwares like Acrobat or other apps from Adobe work fine?

Please excuse me if I sound naive or childish in my assessment of things or my line of questioning, insecurity has left me feeling anxious and hopeless.

It's been a couple weeks since the results came out and I have been in a state of emotional numbness since. Nevertheless, I will most probably be getting HNLU (a good college, I believe). However, I can't help myself shake that "not good enough" feeling. The idea of "top 6 = respect+secure future" has been drilled so deep into my mind that I feel like I have let myself and my family down by being unable to get into a Tier-1 NLU. I feel a sense of inferiority within me whenever I see someone from a Tier-1 NLU. Even though, this was my 2nd attempt and logically, I think there isn't so much that I can improve, I still find myself contemplating taking a partial drop. However, that leads to its own set of problems like "will I be able to manage my college and CLAT in such a way that even if unsuccessful, I would be able to carry on with my college as if nothing ever happened?", "will I even be able to improve my rank?", etc.

I worry whether I should even continue down this path or just look into some other field altogether. Upon some introspection, it seems like I think that the difference between say, NLIU, and HNLU is so vast that it is best to just re-attempt. I don't know what to do at this point. Maybe I can genuinely do better or maybe it's actually the college that I deserve, but whatever it is, the unpredictability of CLAT just worsens the situation. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. - I have heard at some places that there is a pay disparity in jobs just because you're from a Tier- 2/3 NLU, is this actually true?

Hi, I have gotten a rank of 71X this year and will most likely be going to HNLU. However, during all my lurking on this forum, I have come across a lot of comments saying how the gap between HNLU and the last T-1 NLU (NLIU) is quite big and when compared with the likes of NLUJ, GNLU, etc., it doesn't even come into the picture. While I am not questioning the veracity of its existence, I just want to know "how" big is this gap? Is it so much that the situation is practically irredeemable?

Lastly, my most important question, does it make sense for me, as someone who got a rank of 15XX last year, to take a partial drop and go for any college that is higher? Thank you.

Hi, I have gotten a rank of 71X and will be getting HNLU in the first or second provisional list. However, upon checking the past provisional list for NUJS' B.Sc. LL.B. course, I saw that I have an equally good or even better chance of making it there. There are a few things though that I need clarity on:

1. The course seems to be relatively new, will it hurt my employment opportunities? I saw on some LI and Reddit posts that there isn't any placement cell/committee as of now and not a single batch has graduated, so the chances may be bleak.

2. It also seems that the campus is a different one, about 3 kms away from the main campus. Are there any accomodation or other problems there, considering that the main campus is already quite small?

3. Would there be any difference between the B.A. and B.Sc. students apart from coursework (i.e. in terms of opportunities)?

4. I have been to Kolkata quite a few times and I just really dislike the humid weather there. Then, after seeing how small the campuses are, I already made up my mind to not go there. But that was when I thought that a score of 93.5 could get me GNLU/NLIU. Is the difference between these two so stark that I should set aside all these concerns and go there or should I stick to HNLU?
