Though I'd recommend you to stay away from corp law firms, most of them are toxic in some or the other way. Most people go into them only because they need money and can't afford litigation or can't do it.
You should definitely give litigation a shot, given that money is not an issue, you'll be working at your terms and the work also is more fulfilling. It's a good life. Just without pay for a good long period of time.
I’ll be starting law school this year and by the time I graduate I will be 35. As I have been told by everyone around me, law is a young person’s game and firms will not look at me as kindly as they will my much younger batchmates.
Is it still foolish of me to want to pursue law? If corp law doesn’t work out then what about litigation or academia? I’ll be 1st gen but I’m independently wealthy with sizeable passive income so the 5-10 years of slog won’t matter to me as much, fortunately.
Would love to know all your opinions and maybe some harsh truths. Thank you.
