We want LI to be one of the friendliest places on the internet, where lawyers and law students help each other with their career related queries and occasionally discuss other stuff that might affect their lives too. In other words:
1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.
3. Assume the best intention of others.

You may rightfully criticise the law anyway, but the OP was unfortunately a troll who was not being authentic.
Bro, the point being made is that it is a blatant violation of Article 19. The Governor shoudl rertuirn the bill saying that only the disclosure of victim's name is prohibited, not the publication of ANY matter related to a court proceeding.
And thank you for raising Vidhi. Literally everyone there is an NLU grad with an LLM from a reputed university abroad. I trust them more to draft laws than this law firm.
If Mamata dares to arrest reporters from ABP Ananda, Republic Bangla or TV9 Bangla (the three channels she has boycotted), then these guys will immediately go to the High Court or Supreme Court, using a senior advocate, and get bail. But if she arrests at 20 year old YouTuber he or she will obviously not have the same level of influence to hire big lawyers.
Media has slammed the bill.
LI moderators have slammed the bill.

See page 8, section 73. Bar & Bench's report did not mention this, but variosu journalists have tweeted about it. They are saying it amounts to censorship of the news media and social media, because it says publishing ANY matter related to court proceedings requires permission, or it can lead to arrest [where a survivor's identity should be kept secret]
