US has never bombed Iran. It was Iraq they bombed in 2004/5 and there were large scale public protests across the US public spaces then, not just in universities.
Afghanistan was too close to 9/11 and everyone was still recovering from that to have a detached view of the situation. Plus there was no moral ambiguity about the Taliban since they had overthrown an elected government.
There were protestors for every war since Vietnam across American universities. But this is something new. This isnβt protesting- theyβre waving the hezbollah flag and chanting about burning tel aviv to the ground and harassing Jews. These arenβt left wing things. These are authoritarian things. And theyβre - ignorant Americans thinks the whole world and all of its problems are about race thing.
The US has always been a supporter of Israel. Also, there were never such protests when the US bombed Iran and Afghanistan, or protests against China, North Kore and Iran for human rights abuses committed by them. Why this suddenly? Is it because the present generation is more left-wing?
