Is it true that your Raag Yadava is on the selection committee this year? If yes, isn’t that a conflict of interest as some of his students will be applying? Will he have to recuse himself from marking them? We already have an NLSIU alum Nandan Kamath chairing the selection committee, so it seems weighted towards NLSIU.

I don’t know if this makes sense or not , but Kartik Kalra isn’t that good of a scholar as you guys make him out to be. He is pretty decent. Manhar Bansal is amazing and so is Nandil and Siddhant.
This year doesn't seem to be NLS' year. The batch of 2025 is even worse. The batch of 2026 has some promise - Kartik Kalra, Manhar Bansal, Siddhant Pengoriya, Shruti Jain, Nidhi Agarwal etc.
NLS will get it in 2024. There are a couple of people in that batch who can get it. After that, the batch of 2026 will surely fetch at least 1 Rhodes scholar
NLSIU are firm favourites this year by simple mathematical probability alone. A drought means a flood is due. So I expect two Rhodes scholars from NLSIU this year.
Sudhir and alumni are determined to get Rhodes this year and I am confident they will succeed. Let’s hope for the best and fingers crossed for glory days to return 🤞🏅

- Will GNLU continue its strong showing in recent years? Or will NLUD, NUJS and NALSAR add to their tally?
- Will it again go to the student with the wokest SOP, promising to return to India and work for empowerment of the marginalised? Or will they get real and be fine with giving it to a corp law candidate, who tells the truth that he/she wants to settle abroad?
- Will Jindal finally get a Rhodes scholar, after 10 years of coaching their students for it?
- Will we see some WTF choices? For example, the 2019 Rhodes for law went to a girl who did her undergrad from King's College London (see below). It is baffling how a Rhodes scholarship for India went to a girl at a foreign university, even if she is an Indian citizen. In that case there are thousands of Indian citizens studying abroad who can apply!
