They won’t reject cause you’re first year. They might reject cause your writing is not good enough, cause your analysis lacks clarity- cause you’re not saying something new.and all of that is fair. No one is entitled to get published until they learn and put in the work to write something other people want to read. You don’t get kid gloves because you’re a first year. And there’s no shame in learning- no written rule that you have to publish in your first year to get anything. This is not a requirement - it’s an achievement. Take your time - learn how to do it and get published cause you’ve written something good - not because you’re a baby first year. That’s how it’s always been.
