Buddy, nearly all serious CLAT aspirants sit for AILET. The extra 30K folks in CLAT who end up with ranks in the ten thousands are hardly part of the competition pool. So, yeah, the competition in CLAT and AILET is nearly the same considering the 50 seats on offer at NLUD for open merit.

But I thought you Noojies said NIRF was complete shit? Then why are you using that to justify your argument? In reality though, NIRF isn't entirely reliable and NLUD's research output quality and the social impact of its centres like P39A and CCG is way ahead of what NUJS can ever achieve. You sound like the JGLS PR rep who constantly brags about the JGLS Scopus articles but atleast there's an actual argument to be made there. You're just desperate to get someone to think NUJS is as good as NLUD when in reality, more people ditch NUJS for NLUD.

Yeah, I was there a while ago when NLUD was less than a decade old and way more than 50% of the batch had atleast three-digit ranks in CLAT (so they "cracked" CLAT for all intents and purposes and had got some CLAT NLU). Around 20-25 folks had top-200 ranks. And atleast 50% were in the top-500 CLAT ranks (quite a few folks left NLUJ, NLIU and GNLU for NLUD). And this was when the batch was 80, so that number would have presumably increased now. If you're that jobless, you can compare the AILET/CLAT merit lists back when they released names (I did this when I was choosing my law school). The above comment is definitely trollish and misleading and ought to be marked as such, although I doubt any sensible aspirant would take it seriously.

Please get your maths skills reviewed. Numerically, there will always be more people cracking CLAT than AILET. The former has over 20 times the number of seats than the latter. That is not an indicator of the quality of the two exams. There are many more people who sit for CLAT compared to AILET.

Is that true? Technically did more than 50% of AILET top rankers also rank similarly highly in CLAT? Won't disagree that a significant number of them may have and that the comment is hyperbolic and a little bit trollish, but it may be strictly technically accurate (unless you have a basic Google search that shows otherwise)?

Lesson to be learned: Avoid private universities at all costs, no matter how "reputed" they appear to be.

Even if NLUD is greedy (indeed most international institutions of repute are) that is no argument against its merit as an institution. Morality and excellence are two different things and you have established no direct relation among the two. Evil and incompetence are seperate vices, and neither implies the other.

Funny how you’re deliberately ignoring the fact that NLUD was second in NIRF for 3 years where the salary numbers weren’t seemingly inflated over the average NLU median. Seems like you’re just looking to claim “moral” superiority to cover up your own insecurities about NLUD’s rise.

It’s not as if the students have any control on what the admin puts out. But for you, now the entire college is full of liars, lol. You can remain deluded, but the absolute numbers of placements/LLM offers don’t lie. The college can’t hyper-inflate these if students are actually jobless, especially considering NLUD’s small batch size. Believe what you want to believe, NLUD is still good and better than its immediate rivals on certain parameters. Whether we’re ranked second in NIRF or 3rd or 4th doesn’t change that.

It always amuses me that you cannot distinguish between people calling out lies or brags of trolls pushing some institute as something it is not, and people trying to argue for status quo. You can dislike NLSIU, NALSAR, NUJS, NLUD, any place. Doesn't really matter. They will do just what they want, be it admin, faculty or students. All of them are doing well and don't give a damn about anon comments on LI.

Since people here like to talk much and research less, just leaving one piece of verifiable info here. There appears to be this long-standing impression that NLUD faculty are better researchers and publish more and better quality papers. However, I was just checking the NIRF 2022 data and saw that for the last year considered i.e. 2021-22, NLUD faculty publication output and quality of publications are behind even NUJS faculty for the same year. I don't think many people noticed that. It is true that NLUD gets more research funding and consultancy because of their location and proximity of decision making authorities. However, publication output-wise, they are certainly not as much ahead of other places as is popularly claimed.

It is just as much a compulsion if all the NLUs start holding their own entrance tests and then students have to appear for over 20 tests just to study law. There is a reason the SC mandated CLAT. Regardless of the quality of education offered at NLUD, I cannot believe that a law student is arguing in favour of this move that stinks of nothing else other than base greed. Shame on you and the vaunted education that you supposedly got from NLUD!

It always amuses me how the folks from NALSAR and NUJS are so desperate to retain some hierarchy where they want NLS at the top and them just behind like two second-rate side-kicks. They seem to have forgotten how NLS alumni desperately tried to argue before the Karnataka HC during the domicile reservation issue that only NLS should be exempted from a domicile quota while other NLUs should compulsorily have one. That was the year that NUJS also got its domicile quota. Despite this, they continue their patronage to NLS's behind.

That's lousy logic. Where is the morality aspect in saying NLUD that is better than its rivals (atleast in a number of parameters)? That's just cold-hard facts. The data-discrepancy on salaries is a bit off and should be corrected, I don't deny.

As far as "fleecing law aspirants" is concerned, take it up with the CLAT Consortium for its repeated inefficiencies in holding a proper exam. And I know people who have not bothered to write AILET and just take the CLAT, so it's a choice, not a compulsion. People are willing to pay that money because they feel that a seat at NLUD is worth it (and that's true).

My logic is that a university which deliberately submits false data annually and also deliberately fleeces law aspirants every year in the name of an entrance exam, is morally bankrupt and its supporters should quit pretending to have the high ground.

As for Symbi's ranking, that just goes to show the uselessness of NIRF as a ranking system. As for the hierarchy that you mentioned, that only exists in NIRF, not in the real world or within the industry, whether you accept that or not.

Why this unknown ranking story on Legally India?

While I am opposed to submitting any false data, the median salary is calculated wrongly (looks like average is being taken which is bumped up by foreign offers) and is slightly more, so your logic now is that the entire college is bad? Symbiosis is third in NIRF, barely a few decimal points below NLUD and above NALSAR, where’s your claim for their false data there? Stop regurgitating whatever you’ve read on LI and do your own research.
Besides, the parameters for this ranking haven’t even been revealed. And as a policy, NLUD doesn’t voluntarily participate in any non-government rankings, and it still ends up 2nd nearly every time. It doesn’t matter whether you accept the hierarchy or not, it exists.

IIT Kharagpur? Now that a new addition. NLUD needs to stop with their fake data, NALSAR is miles ahead of it.

Education and career platform Basictell has revealed the top 10 colleges for admission in 2023. The lists of “Top Colleges in India” are split up into five different fields - Management, Engineering, Medical, Law, and Architecture.

“We really wanted to reflect the way that we saw students looking for admission, which was about the institute, but also about the offerings,” explains Sukanta Das, founder and director of Basictell.
