I have been through this process and having considered it strongly, would advise you against it unless you are absolutely not cut out for law and want to do a MBA to switch fields.
Doing MBA from an IIM does not make financial sense if you are at a T1 Law firm. International MBA is a different scene.
Post MBA, your salary is going to be 25-30 LPA approx assuming you get into MBB Consulting. You will be making more money as a SA at a T1 law firm and the work life is just as bad. Also, as a lawyer, assuming you make it to IIM A/B/C your options are severely limited post MBA. We can forget about PE/Investment banking, since we'll have to compete with CA gold medallists and CFA holders who have worked on balance sheets for the last 10 years. Product management and tech consulting you will have to compete with IIT/NIT toppers who have spent 3+ years writing code and developing software. Our only options are strategy/esg/management consulting. And everyone wants the limited MBB jobs that are available. Not to mention that there are a fair chunk of SRCC/Stephen's grads in IIMs who have already spent a few years in consulting and are now eyeing a bigger post MBA position at MBB. Especially a year outside college, there is very little practical knowledge and big picture understanding that we have. My thought process was this - as a lawyer I can be at the top of my game but as a management grad, every day will be a struggle to catch up with my competition, who knows tech inside out, can do complex calculations in their head, and know financials inside out.
