My first 6 months were 100% overwhelming and confusing, and I considered leaving the team / practice area (capital markets) and firm every week. I ended up staying for 2 years and in retrospect I'm glad I didn't leave within the first year. The transition from student to professional doesn't happen overnight and taking my time to adjust to the new role allowed me to separate the quirks / aspects of the team and its work from the parts of the job that are just a part of the industry. It enabled me to take a decision when I was in a position to make a far more informed decision. I'd recommend taking the time to adjust and being certain of your decision and next steps at every stage.
