Governance:
- Madhava Menon led from the front for many years and set up a strong base. NL Mitra consolidated. Thus, many years of uninterrupted good leadership.
- Strong support and lack of political interference by successive Chief Ministers (until now).
- Faculty quality, especially the old faculty who were trained by Menon.
- Strong discipline, plagiarism not tolerated.
Student and alumni culture:
- An atmosphere where everyone studies hard. Trimester system keeps everyone on their toes.
- Students and seniors help each other out, a culture of togetherness and solidarity.
- Close alumni involvement: teaching, mentoring, helping in the job market etc.
- Many role models among alumni to look up to.
- Unlike other NLUs, a focus on careers other than law firms, which allow people to make more of an impact.
