My client will save 3% stamp duty if a Business Transfer Agreement can be shown to fall under the category of 'Deed of Conveyance' and not a 'Deed of Agreement', under the Karnataka Stamp Act, 1957. Are there any case laws which have held that a Business Transfer Agreement is a 'Deed of Conveyance'?
