Hello everyone. My younger brother is interested in making a career in corporate law. He would be a first gen lawyer with no connections in this field whatsoever. If he gets a Tier-1 nlu would he still have any trouble getting internships and job? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
Hi.

Once he is an Tier 1/ top college, with the right guidance from college seniors and some hard work on his part, he will be able to manage internships. While the guidance will be easier to get, the competition within the college will be high as every firm allocates certain seats per college.

Other lower ranked colleges, the guidance is lacking and the firms don’t allocate any seats/ don’t hire from college. But you can still apply directly to firms if they don’t come to your college.

Either way, it helps to know people within the legal firms as they can push your CV internally to the HR, although sometimes firms do hire candidates basis CV/ some assessment test. The chances of this are lesser.
