Ex-aspirant who's given the interview twice and only wanted IFS, go for it. If you have an interest in international relations, diplomacy and geopolitics, this is the only decent career avenue in India. Otherwise you'll have to get a higher degree from abroad and publish well to be recognised as an expert in these matters. Moreover, if you've read the government notifications, the cabinet has approved increase in IFS seats in the next 5 years. In our time we had only 25 seats for IFS, now it's 55. However remember that CSE is not a walk in the park. You will have to grind like hell. All the best
