In India too, the government has been playing an increasingly pronounced role in judicial appointment. As for the rest, those are his personal opinions, nothing more and nothing less.
Assuming that Salve is right about the lack of such studies/authorities, that by itself does not mean that the Collegium system is flawed. Has any study held that systems akin to the Collegium system are detrimental in any way whatsoever? The wariness towards appointments being made by the Executive is more than justified when it comes to India.
union of india se sarkari vakil toh appoint ho nahi rahe merit pe, ye log judges banayenge high court aur supreme court ke LMAO
Ha ha! Lots of downvotes by people of a certain ideology, but they can't give a single cogent counter to his remarks.
the collegium system is the last thread against complete political blocs within the judiciary.
Truth bombs? This guy has been reduced to the domestic help of Mukeshbhai and his children. Won't move an inch without making sure he is pleasing the BJP top brass. Starts a scholarship at Oxford (where he didn't even study), joined a UK firm and does pure Indian arbitration sitting in London but is busy giving us advice about India being run by Indians?

Nehru, Shastri, Indira, Morarji, Rajiv, VP Singh, PVN, Vajpayee and Manmohan were all foreigners?

Such absolute drivel. He is just forever indebted that ▮▮▮ famous India Gate ▮▮▮

Truth, my ass.
He himself took candidates for internships either through source/contact or from specific institutes and giving lectures on Nepotism........height of "HYPOCRISY"
What about lawyers not getting good salaries / job, internship etc sir ji
Then why is he not in India running his own firm instead of joining a Uk one
So much vitriol against one of India's most eminent counsels simply because he is pro-Modi. How come you all are silent about controversies involving AMS, Sibal, Nalini + P Chidambaram and Pinaki Mishra? The left-wing mentality of LI's readers blind them to facts and objectivity.
