That is a good reason. But you should know that you would effectively be burning your bridges with that T1 for some years at least. The ego of a T1 is easily hurt and it is likely that should you look to make a move in an year or two to the same firm, you may be rejected just on account of this u-turn.
I don't think u know how desperate firms are pqe 1 and above levels, the HRs literally act totally creepy
Current employer will now always treat you as a flight risk. Ensure everything what made you leave is resolved before you accept retention.
