So, straight out of college i worked as a litgattion associate in a local firm in Chennai. did it for 5~ months before moving in house to TVS (Inhouse for a manufacturing company). Shifted to an AIF after a year at TVS in November of last year and realise that I need experience working in a firm before moving in house.

So...

my doubt is whether its smart for me to shift to a t1 firm in their funds team and stick around for a few years before shifting in house to a fund. My network is primarily in the funds side given my current work and brother who is a senior position in a PE Fund.

Have great references to join a T1 and im 100% sure ill get in. Dont mind putting in the work so that I can learn.

LI folks gimme your advise.

Thanks.
I'd stick with in-house and climb there. Stark difference between work in law firm and in house for funds. In law firm you'll only do formation. In house much more exiting and harder to enter into for funds, you have your foot in the door stick with it
Whoa

Stick to in-house. Very different than law firm, very difficult to get in.
