Recently, VC of NLUO gave an interview to careers360 where she conveniently lied and created a false narrative to hide her own shortcomings.

When asked about the suicides in uni, she said none of it happened in uni. However, the first incident happened in April 2022 when the person hanged themself in their hostel room of the university. The VC even had the audacity to say that the person chose to end their life due to "weight issues".. WTF was she trying to imply by making such statements??

VC went on to say that they are giving rooms on double sharing basis to first years so that they can keep a track of each other and no one is left alone. BUT THE TRUTH IS THAT THEY DON'T HAVE ENOUGH ROOMS and they have cramped 2 people in rooms meant for 1 person.

The VC has guts to lie blatantly in public but not to take corrective measures. Her pathetic policies like having LLB (3 yr) course without having sufficient infra has led to all this chaos in uni. And it's even more said to see no one being able to question her when NLUO is falling in every ranking be it NIRF or NAAC.

Precisely why the TLC Mafia need to be removed from NLUs and replaced by NLU alumni. It’s happening only at NLSIU so far.
Re the weight issue, is it true or not? Did that play a role? If yes, she isn’t wrong. If no, she should resign.
its unfortunate that the VC is trying to shift the blame on the victims, if the incidents happened at the campus, the university cannot escape liability. Remedial measures look good on paper, but only someone in need of help will be the best judge about the robustness of such initiatives.
Even if it is true, such remarks should not come from the VC of a uni. When the suicide happened, people literally lied in front of her car to stop her from fleeing from the campus. Horrible.
Update: VC has claimed that she did not say anything like this to Careers360 and they misunderstood her comments. The impugned para of the interview is now deleted.

It should be a standard practice of any university head to insist that the final form of any interview taken should be vetted by them/their office before allowing publication. That a senior academic like the NLUO VC was not aware of it or failed to follow it does not bode well for their capability as an administrative head.
