I have 2 years of experience in an very niche practice area that didn't work out for me. There are only 5 firms that practice it and all the teams have some issues of their own plus the practice area has limited in house scope (ARCs only- which makes it easier to guess the practice area I'm speaking of).
I loved the work and the exposure. I didn't like the people. I had a beyond traumatic experience with the partners and it got me thinking that if this is the situation I face today, few years down the line it'll be even more difficult to take a stand for myself or switch to a practice area.
So I'm looking to do some transactions or M&A, PE-VC.
Can someone please give me tips on how to make the transition and firms that might be open to accepting me and offering me a role?
