Hereโ€™s an SNL Skit from eight years ago which has aged so well, given the state of things in university and the news-

Kian - please let this pass! We could all use a good laugh!
Yes, this was on my TL some weeks ago. The reason obviously is that people see clueless liberal college kids support terror groups like Hamas and hold up songs saying Queers for Palestine even though Hamas outlaws gay sex.

We do see parallels among Indian university kids as wellโ€ฆ
Whereas clueless people like you keep supporting state-sponsored massacre by Israelis, not knowing that the Middle East countries may stop our oil supply if India openly supports Israel. Modiji knows that too, which is why he is calling for the war to end.
Okay but do you refute that so many of the things you stand for have much more acceptance from Hindus than the cauldron of Islamic theocracies we find ourselves in the midst of? Honestly, Hindus are on the whole a lot more tolerant and we could be on the same side and it hurts me that you kids identify with people who will literally stone you and throw you off buildings for your views.
Dude, first of all, it is stupid of you to assume that I'm younger than you. Secondly, you are the one making this about religion. I don't care what the religion of the murderer or murdered is, I am against murder. I identify as a Hindu myself, and dislike rabid people from all religions with equal fervour. The trouble with people like you is that you first start looking at the identity of the perpetrator and then if it fits your narrative the heinous nature of the offence. Whereas I tend to focus on the latter exclusively. I hate Hamas and the atrocities that they indulge in. I equally hate Israel and its forces for their atrocities and massacre, more so because they are a nation state and not a terrorist group and hence should have done better. So, to me the ideological fight is between pro-murder and anti-murder people, and nothing else. What israel is doing now will keep ensuring that more and more people whom they are killing will eventually side with Hamas because they are the only ones fighting against the Israelis who are killing these people. So that just prolongs the bloody conflict as it has been doing since years. We are trying for a new approach in Kashmir at least theoretically which is to convince the inhabitants that the state can look after them better than the insurgents can. Whether that succeeds or takes time, it is the only viable approach against terrorism. Israel won't do that because they don't really consider Palestinians as their equals despite the latter also being from the same land, and what they are displaying now is their hatred against Palestine and not Hamas, no matter what their propaganda machine claims.
๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฑIs not pro-murder.

Did you forget October 7, 2023?

Just because India failed to retaliate for 26/11 doesn't mean that such foolishness should become state policy for everyone else.
Never forget October 7. Never forget 26/11. Same targets, same bigotry. Different soil.
Never forget October, November or December. Same bigotry, more mass murdering, more bigots supporting that.
I find your calling ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฑ pro-murder to be foolish and problematic. Please do yourself and us all a favour and read more.

Read Douglas Murray's on-ground coverage of this conflict before filibustering us with your views.

Here are plenty of other links that clearly prove that Israel has been killing civilians in large numbers over the last three months, including journalists, destroying hospitals, schools and shelters indiscriminately.

Here is an account of an IDF head, whose only defence is that they are only killing Hamas, despite all news and evidence to the contrary. Their another favourite defence is that UK/USA have killed more people in retaliation in the past.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-67691219

Over 29000 bombs have been dropped by Israel so far, but of course in 'self-defence;

Over 2 million people displaced so far and refugee shelters being bombed too.

But Netanyahu is shedding croc tears only over the 150-odd military personnel death (which is absolutely tragic too).

UN personnel have also been killed by IDF, but of course even they were shielding the Hamas and hence deserved death,

How this is leading to more Palestinian support for armed resistance.

Uhm, the point was about the cognitive dissonance on being pro LGBT and also pro Palestine/Hamas?

War aside (agreed generally with your points) why do left liberals always side with the Islamic side of the story when Islam is unabashed in its hatred of anything that isn't patriarchal. Why can't true Hindus (who aren't basically copying the cultlike attributes of abrahamic faiths) and liberals unite for a better world?
Hindus aren't a homogenous group. I don't think that the Virat Hindus, RSS, VHP and BJP supporters have got anything in common with me when it comes to understanding my of my religion and its philosophy. Nor do the Maulanas and Peerzadas.
Welcome to 2023 where we recognize the excellent predictive value of SNL almost a decade ago
Absolutely. Very scary. Social media has diminished the brain cells of Gen Z, to the point that they support terror groups if a few Tiktokiyas tell them to do so.
I am Gen Y. I've come to the point where I just don't bother arguing with Gen Z anymore. I'd rather wait for them to grow up and mature, then have conversations with them on Communism vs Capitalism, Israel vs Palestine, BTS vs The Beatles etc.
Fair point. At the same time it's important for us to keep pushing out side of the story loudly and proudly and in a non-boomer way as well. Can't let the internet entirely reflect only Gen Z narratives.
