If you a join a firm in the middle of year, and the bonuses are disbursed at the end of each financial year, how will your bonus get affected?

People often do not qualify for increments because of this, does this hold true for bonuses as well? How does one then calculate their bonus at a pro rated basis?
For one of them it's paid if you meet targets plus jump a million hoops, most of which are impossible so you basically end up getting nothing despite killing yourself for them.
How is bonus calculated at Tri? Everyone gets the meets expectations bonus , do they give the exceed expectations bonus to anyone or it's taken by the partners?
