Echoes at tier 1 NLUs, where most join CAM, SAM and the like? Are students taking left-wing human rights electives for easy credit and grade inflation?

"The most popular major at Harvard, Yale, and many other supposedly leftist universities is economicsβnot exactly the subject of choice for aspiring anti-capitalists. At the University of Pennsylvania, 50 percent of graduating students take jobs in finance or consulting. The figures at other Ivies arenβt much lower. If these institutions are trying to produce Marxists, they are failing spectacularly. ... And who would now say that decolonization is a metaphor? Certainly not the professor who will show up to class on Monday and teach decolonial theory to bored economics majors in need of one last humanities credit before they head off to McKinsey & Company"
There is a difference between woke and far left. No one is claiming these students are far left in that they honestly think capitalism is a bad way to do things or would want socialist policies in their country. Theyre just woke because it allows them to perform virtue without thinking about the real people struggling in conflict zones or without thinking about complex questions around ethics of war. Thats the problem. We know this generation has no ethics they wont sell out for a fat pay check- You cannot have both the kardashians and malala be your role models - one of those things is not like the others- unless ofcourse youre just about appearances as opposed to real ethical and moral values.
I would want socialist policies in my country. In fact, my country has got multiple socialist policies in place, regardless of their implementation level.
I admit that I took a few woke courses to improve my grades for placements, instead of difficult courses like advanced taxation, biotech law, trade law etc. For example, I took a course on Women and Law where you had to name any 10 rights of women under the CEDAW or General recommendations: for 1 mark each. So easy!
