The year was bad for all NLUs, but we did not do very badly. It will take time for any institution to grow and gain a rep to convince the recruiters. There have been a few PPOs to some really smart students. Doubtless they will do well and help the institution get a better deal in the days to come. We are trying our best ti improve despite a lot of odds, honestly. We are also thinking of getting in touch with senior batches and alum from older NLUs, who can perhaps share their placement experience and advice.
1. It's not a national institute like IITB
2. The Maharashtra govt needlessly opened MNLU in Nagpur and Aurangabad, which is sucking up funding that could have gone to the original MNLU,
3. State govt apathy (whether Congress or NCP or Sena)
4. Bad VC, faculty and admin appointees.
The only answer is to #NationaliseNLUs.
