The UK government and media are really going after pro-Hamas students in elite British universities. Let's hope that no Indian student gets into trouble. On social media, we have seen many of our friends posting in favour of Palestine, including some who are doing their LLMs abroad. Such posts are absolutely fine, but our generation gets very emotional on social media. Sometimes the language used in posts can upset people. So I think we should be careful about what we post. It's best to make a distinction between violent groups like Hamas and the legal question of Palestine statehood.

RW govts are going way overboard for Israel. To deport someone showing solidarity online is overzealous. It obviously isn't a black and white picture here.

That being said, you will see a lot of mandbuddhi Indian students campaigning for Hamas (few were also named in the Harvard University list) when Palestinians would genocide these kaffirs any chance they get. It's hilarious seeing the extra ordinary efforts several Indian students go when it comes to campaigning for Kashmir and Palestine ignoring the fact that people from those underdeveloped regions would consider them second class humans at best.
solidarity with terrorists who target civillians should worry any government. Palestinian civilians are another matter altogether.
Excellent and balanced comment. Right wing orthodoxy is bad, but so is wokeism. Some of these students posted "Queers for Palestine" and in reply people rightly posted "Chickens for KFC"!

Also, why only Kashmir, Palestine and Khalistan? Why not Tibet, Baluchistan and Kurdistan? Evidently lobbies are funding this and people are being useful idiots for them.
So much for "Freedom of expression" and "Democracy" that the UK so actively propagates. Freedom of expression means you have the right to say what you want. Abusing a Muslim woman and calling her names based on her burqa will be acceptable to the UK and that should be taken as a joke, however, let a Muslim man or a black man call a random girl "Sexy" without even touching her, that would not be "Freedom of expression". This is the hypocrisy which countries like the UK so actively preach and practice.
I request Gen Z kids to read history properly before tweeting. Hamas and the PLO are different. Hamas hates the PLO and Arafat. PLO wants two states, but Hamas wanted Israel eradicated and hates Jews. They have the same ideology as the Taliban, Al Qaeda, ISIS, Book Haram etc. Their full name is Harakat al-Muqawama al-Islamiya. People can support Palestine but you must condemn Hamas.

Even the left-wing Guardian newspaper says about Hamas: "it is also a sinister organisation committed to the mass murder of Israelis."

There is a massive genocide of Muslims happening in Xinjiang, carried out by the Chinese government. NOT ONE WORD from leftists and Muslim activists about that. On the contrary, Imran Khan denied that China is killing Muslims when the BBC asked him about, while Sitaram Yechury did the same when Scoopwhoop interviewed him. And as the NYT report showed, Neville Roy Singham is is funding a campaign of Uyghur genocide denial.

So please spare me the crocodile tears about Palestine.
