The NLIU incident was not an outlier. We can go back to the CAA protests. We are seeing political divisions across NLUs. Student elections are being affected as well. Even fests and sports tournaments have become hijacked. BOTH left-wing and right-wing factions are to blame.

So what's going on? Is this something that started post 2014 and post 2016, with the rise of Modi and Trump? Is this the social media echo chamber phenomenon? Or is something fundamentally wrong with Gen Z?
Why do you think that NLUs should be an echo chamber of one-sided views? It's good that students are being able to openly support and voice their own opinions instead of towing the line of the majority!
NLUs are state institutions, hence each to its own. This is like state teams in the Ranji Trophy in cricket. The fact that these are state institutions shows up.
