Heard a strange rumour from an insider that due to GNLU's massive fall in perception due to the recent incidents in campus, the 5-6 students who applied from there won't be considered.
The alumni lobby is working hard to see that NLSIU gets it. If NLSIU misses out this year as well, then the sheen created around the so-called "Harvard of the East" will begin to fade. NLSIU still leads Rhodes scholars by a huge margin, but 90% of these people won it when there were no other NLUs to compete with.
Harvard of the East is by the fools, for the fools. Not one person with even average thinking capacity believes NLS is anywhere equivalent to Harvard. Let alone Harvard, NLS isn't even on the level of good Asian universities. The moniker is just to satisfy "we r numba 1 Indiya!!!" delusions of incoming NLS batches to inflate their egos when all they've actually done is do well in the easiest and least competitive exam in India.
