is it possible to switch to an in house role with previous experience at litigation chambers/offices?

Yes. I made a switch from litigation to in house last year. You have to apply very religiously on LinkedIn and naukri. There are companies which have dedicated litigation management resource and since that person will be in house so additionally they also get to draft agreements etc. My personal advice to you to keep applying whether or not you fit in the role provided it is legal.
