I got internship confirmation from a certain tier 1 firm a month ago for mid Oct to mid Nov duration but today itself I got an email stating a the internship dates have been "updated", ranging from mid Oct to end Oct. Following that, I called up the firm's HR department, who informed that I can't join middle of the month in this manner, even though they had confirmed it before. After staying that I already booked travel and staying arrangements, they asked me to send my travel tickets to them. This entire saga is so anxiety inducing, can anyone here guide me what exactly to do in this situation?
