Related to a recent thread, I'm gonna intern with a cap market team of a T1 firm in March next year (2025 batch). It'll be my first cap internship but ai have 2 corporate internships from other T1 firms before this. Can I get an offer in the very first cap market internship given the attrition and non technical work? (T2.5 NLU- almost T3 yes). Please serious answer guys, not in a good mind frame and have negative thoughts very often.
Nope, have atleast two T2 experiences and then 2-3 T1 experiences then the prospect for bagging a PPO goes up. Nobody will want someone with 1 internship i.e. 1 month experience to work as an A0 at a T1 firm in their dedicated practice area.
It all depends on your team, bond etc. I dont know many people who have had 5 (3 T1 and 2 T2) internships in total, let alone in one field of capital markets. People get all sorts of offers all year around, you just need to be vocal enough to work there. This is what I feel honestly
