Bernie Sanders once said this about Gen Z while speaking to Teen Vogue magazine:
"This is a generation which is profoundly anti-racist, anti-sexist, anti-homophobic, anti-xenophobic, and anti–religious bigotry. It is a generation of tolerance and decency. And that is no small thing. And that generation should be very proud of who they are."
So will Gen Z make better law firm bosses and chamber seniors? Will they be kinder than the current lot and not bully employees, or give them excessive workloads, or underpay them, or promote nepotism? Similarly, will they make more compassionate VCs and professors than the present lot? The present VCs and professors are truly heartless: hiking fees, not giving attendance exemptions for legitimate reasons, giving low grades etc.
Now, we are talking about 25-30 years down the line. Will Gen Z become just as mean and regressive as Boomers/Gen X/Gen Y when they become old?
This generation is defiantly better than the last generations in all aspects, who grew up glamourizing rape, abuse, despotism, unhealthy lifestyle , materialism, Bollywood and ofcourse work from office.
Just look at how toxic the preceding generation (Gen Y) is. Brought up on patriarchal Bollywood movies, homophobic and transphobic shows like Friends, evil books like Atlas Shrugged and the Fountainhead, and supporters of right-wing politicians and tech bros.
Gen Z and Gen Alpha are humanity's best hope, but I worry that it may be too late before they are in charge.

No. they actually arent. This is the generation that will cancel anyone and ruin their lives and remove them from jobs because of microaggressions and perceived wrong think. Tell me why you think people who are so comfortable bullying people on the internet wont turn out to be bullies in real life?

Where is the proof that they are less sexist? the same people who will hunt down any middle aged woman and call her a karen and bully her on social media because she wanted someone else to follow the rules? the kids on college campuses who assault, sexually harass their fellow students? the people who rate their female classmates? the people who tar and feather anyone who doesnt participate in hook up culture as a prude? You resent actually embattled gay and lesbian people owning even their own history of oppression so you color your hair, put an earring on and call yourself queer while continuing to be cis and straight? Is that less homophobic? Do you think gay students at universities are bullied and assaulted because yall virtue signal on social media? Who said theyre not xenophobic ? the generation that chooses to focus on climate activism to the point where they dont think about poor brown and black people who need jobs to eat food? while at the same time they engage in fast fashion? VCs and professors are not heartless because they graded your work fairly and didnt grant you attendance when you wanted. Your brain is just not developed enough to go beyond what you want (like a toddler). VCs and professors understand that when 50 students manage to come to class on time and submit their assignments and do decently well- and 10 students that dont do that stuff- its not fair to give everyone the same grade or to falsify records to pretend everyone put in the same effort. Students everyday go through difficult emotional issues and family problems and illnesses and they dont let it actually affect their work. Those students end up being toppers. You assume that anyone who tops a class has an ultra privileged background and thats just not true. its as much about what you put in. and its unfair to that student if the professor gives you the same grade even if you havent been putting in the same work.
I dont think mean / nice is the only thing that matters. Mean and nice are short term calculations based on whether someone makes you feel good or bad. A professors job isnt to be nice. Its his job to educate- and that involves holding students acccountable. Thats the whole job. 25 -30 years down the line- genz will be upset that they were this embarassing in their selfrighteousness.
This generation will be worse, all they know about is cancelling each other, their personality is all about their sexuality. They crib and cry. They are social media warriors, that's it, at least in previous generation when we saw injustice we were out on roads, meanwhile they think tweeting or putting a story is it.

It's not the first generation that's grown with idealism, every generation looked a lot more progressive at their time.
