After how many years does one get called into equity partnership at tier 1 firms in India?

How much equity do they get in their first year? (generally)
This is a good question. Would be interesting to the recent trends (and compare with that over time). I think folks like Umakant made equity at Amarchand within 10 years. Then, the next decades (2000-2014) saw folks making it to salaried partner in 7-8 years. Now the path to salaried partner is 9-12 years. Meanwhile, fastest equity seems to be 15 years (for the absolute top performer/rainmaker).

Obviously not counting Trilegal β€œall-equity” model here.
@kian had done thing research some years ago and revealed the periods by firm. Unfortunately, that kind of research is not avaliable today.

Unless someone is willing to

1. Years for partnership by firm, by practice area

2. Disputes practice and going to courts

3. What the hell is general corp
As soon as you threaten to leave.. out comes the equity which they have been dawdling over.
