This is a good question. Would be interesting to the recent trends (and compare with that over time). I think folks like Umakant made equity at Amarchand within 10 years. Then, the next decades (2000-2014) saw folks making it to salaried partner in 7-8 years. Now the path to salaried partner is 9-12 years. Meanwhile, fastest equity seems to be 15 years (for the absolute top performer/rainmaker).
