There’s no ragging culture in GNLU. The most a senior can do is to ask your name and where you are from, that to just know their junior. If this is ragging, people are free to call it ragging.
Only 10 seniors are suspended for ragging and other 62 had been imposed with fines and community service and that's also not of 60 hours for everyone. Moreover the issue is being heated up by the media whereas it was not a ragging case but a misunderstanding between authorities and students of a Freshers Mixer being termed as ragging which lead to all these wrong decisions by authorities.
Not trying to be a Gnlu marketer, but there is definitely no ragging culture in GNLU. In fact, the senior-junior relationship in the boys' hostel is very strong. So much so that seniors would go to lengths to help juniors out be it exemptions or academics. And girls hostel is more on need basis, if you approach anyone, they all willing to help as well.
