Do you know about any other colleges where attendance is not compulsory??
No requirements as such in GLC. Professors may prefer to give lower internal marks, but no consequences as such for not meeting the criteria of 75%.
ILS is pretty much horrible in many aspect.
- They have weaponized attendance against students to the fullest. Be prepared to beg, fight for attendance, "generate" medical certificates, pay fines etc.
- Teachers hold attendance against students over petty issues. Up your teaching game, this is pure BS. And the overall atmosphere is a bit sadist imo.
- The only thing that is good there are the students. But since 50% reservation was implemented, the crowd is not as cosmopolitan anymore. Students are bright, but lack the cultural diversity from past.
- Admin considers it a crime to pursue internships during semester (which is the best time since low competition, if you are going to argue that 1-2 months of missed lectures would have turned you into jethmalani ji then we're all ears hehe).
- the whole college has been rented out for various purposes. College fees includes swimming pool maintenance charges, and the same is available to students for 1 hour. Rest is private coaching. The ground is rented out for concerts, events, cricket /football coaching.
- The founding family won't cede power, ever. ILS does not have a full time Principal. They're holding fort till the 3rd generation takes over.

ILS, if you are reading this, do better than harping about a century old legacy.
Hey! Good answer! But ILS had great cultural diversity for nearly 2 decades after OBC reservations in the 1990s. It has slipped recently due to various reason.

And it is taken that you mean regional diversity by cultural diversity.
