Yes, half the inhabitants are afraid of their lives. So miracle indeed. The entire
national economy has tanked because of the knee jerk policies of the BJP, job loss is high, prices of oil and cooking gases are skyrocketing, inflation is climbing, interest rate is falling leaving a big chunk of the population without any recourse, but Ajay Bisht is creating miracles in the middle for sure.
Type karne aata hai to kuch bhi likhega kya? "half the inhabitants are afraid of their lives." lmao. What is the backing for this stat> Any survey? Or just a figment of your triggered imagination?
Merely the part of the population that doesn't consist of upper caste Hindus. Plenty of reports exist. You won't find them in your whatsapp forwards though. Try to actually interact with those people once in a while. It's a waste of education when educated people actually try to defend that monster and call the jungle raaj that exists in that state at present to be a good state of living. Every time Ajay Bisht opens its mouth, it is to incite genocide.
Actually, just 25% of UP's population consists of "upper caste Hindus" if you are really going there. Please feel free to send any one of the "plenty of reports" that exist citing the magic 50%, I will be waiting. As far as trying to interact with people goes, I actually live in UP and my family runs a grass-root education NGO in rural UP. If you had any knowledge (apart from your echo chamber Instagram/Twitter pages and Quint/Wire), you would know that BJP's biggest support in UP actually comes from the lower castes who have actually seen development for the first time in their lives. Unlike your source, these sources actually exist.

No one is saying that BJP is the best thing that could have happened to UP, however, they are miles ahead of the actual "jungle raj" parties of the past. (since you really like that term without actually knowing what it meant to live in that period).

I know you are a frustrated 1st-year law student from a metro city with no experience of ground reality apart from what your favourite Instagram influencers feed you. However, if you come up with made-up facts to disguise your frustration, you are going to get schooled. My advice: stop trying to embarrass yourself, you don't have what it takes to even get into debates.

Aao kabhi UP mein ;)
I can go on and on about how wrong you "actually" are but then again brain de*d zombies parroting the same two lines never learn
Nope, Tbh all the political parties in UP be it BSP, SP, RLD, Congress and BJP suck.

Coming to Yogi:

He destroy the Leather Industry of Kanpur altogether because most owners were Muslims.
https://youtu.be/8cfZ-Vq12jw

Mindless ban on meat and alcohol in various cities means the livelihood of thousands was wiped out instantly.

Unemployment level is very high and vacancies for many govt jobs are not being filled (I can attest for the Teachers and Prosecution officers)

I live in the capital and literally nothing changed all the infra in Lucknow was made by SP and BSP.
Things like:
Lucknow Metro (SP)
Gomti River Front (SP)
Police Headquarters (SP)
New HC Lucknow bench Building (SP)
Ambedkar Memorial Park (BSP)
Eco Garden (BSP)
Literally all the stone work in the city (BSP)
Purvanchal Expressway - BJP
Gomti Nagar Railway Terminal - BJP
Outer Ring Road - BJP
Multiple Flyovers - Tedhi Pulia, Matiyari to Shaheed Path and many more - BJP
T3 at Lucknow Airport -BJP
Redevelopment of Alambagh Bus Station - BJP
New Bus Station on Faizabad Road
Introduction of Electric Buses - BJP

And I haven't even started about the development of Allahabad, Kanpur and Agra Metro etc.
All personal statues in the city? All organised mafia in the city? All open casteism in the city? All personal amusement parks in the city? All underhand tenders in the city?

Looks like you forgot to mention the areas where the State has seen a real difference. Hence proved, you don't care about improvement in people's lives like dismantling of gunda raj, you just hate a proud Hindu politician who has support from all castes. Keep crying because your nightmare isn't going to end anytime soon. You should save your tears for when Yogi becomes the Prime Minister
Yes he did. You may hate him for who he is, but he only had 5 years and a lot of Kerala based companies are coming to UP
Read up on the massive Pepsico plant in Kerala, workers would go on a strike each and everyday. It became impossible to run a factory. The company shut its plant in Kerala and is shifting to UP. Others are following.
And yet people from UP are moving to Mumbai and Bangalore for jobs.
Election hype. Same happened with Modi-Gujarat before 2014 Lok Sabha elections. Nobody talks about Gujarat development model anymore.
Well he improved one thing...that is put an end to gunda raj. If you have heard of Gross Happiness Index, you would know that economical development is not the only criteria to judge development. So when goons are off street it leads to more happy people, fearless businessmen and entrepreneurs and that leads to more development. Anyways I think the economy has been decent if not stellar.

You can see from a neutral report accessible at https://www.ibef.org/states/uttar-pradesh-presentation

That GSDP and NSDP wise UP has been doing better each year. It is growing at a good CAGR.

Non BJP era 2016 to 2017 the GSDP grew from around $174 billion to $192 billiom.
BJP era 2017 to 2018 GSDP grew from $192 billion to $ 219 billion. An unprecedented growth.

Since then it has maintained a good CAGR of 8.43 percent. It only declined in 2021 obviously because of COVID. UP municipal corporations are raising bond money from Finance markets. They are trying to do good work. The goons taking contracts are a thing of past. Criminals are scared. I would say things are better than previous non yogi governments.
Not only criminals, everyone is scared. The police are the new goons now, ably supported by BJP/RSS/VHP goons.
For someone who is arguing about other people being brainwashed into making stereotypical judgement, you sure did your own bit of that. To say that Bengal has greater caste based politics than UP is so far out of sync with reality that makes one wonder whether you get your daily dose of news from WhatsApp university only. As someone who has been living in Bengal for a long time and have had grassroot level experience of most corners of the state, I can share the informed opinion that nothing can be further from the truth.
Maybe the RW media have led you equally astray as you are saying that other people have been re UP.
Why has there been no Dalit or OBC CM in Bengal then? Why have all Cm's been Brahmins? Looks like your grassroot experience didn't do shit if you haven't thought of these basic questions.

Love-day RW, WhatsApp University use karne see cool nahi ban jaayega. (...)
All Bengal CMs have not been Brahmins, you oaf! The longest serving one wasn't, for example. The forced presence of an OBC CM points more towards caste based politics rather than the absence of one. There are several leaders from all sections of the society.
Basu (Kayastha) is still a very forward caste love-day, stop taking everything so literally. You still haven't answered why no one from the lower caste is becoming CM if casteism is non-existent in Bengal. I highly doubt what sourt of "ground level" experience you have had. Did you imagine it while smoking a fat j in your hostel balcony?
I've used the Love-day thing on LL to bypass admin for quite a few months now lol. Love it.
Quote:
But caste based politics is even worse off in states like Bengal
Absolute nonsense.
Why are facts contested for 1.2 but not for 1.1? Moderation or selective moderation, R?
This is what prejudice does.

We have three consecutive comments, all of which are without any factual substantiation. Moderator has unfairly imposed his subjectivity to tag one as trollish or facts contested even as the said comment is closest to any kind of actual factual comparison.

@LegallyIndia please fix. This is going horribly wrong. This is a public forum. Even if it is owned by you, it is not papa's aangan where you can do whatever you want to do. If you want to be seen as an objective voice, some more effort and introspection is required at how you moderate. Need the same standard for everything. Personal preference should not seep in.
Never expect an honest opinion on Legally India especially about a right wing leader. Legally India audience is mainly woke and wealthy elites from national law schools.

Or did you just post this question to trigger some communist response from woke NLU kids?

Anyways,

Yogi is just like any other CM - didn't achieve much but some business friendliness and more investments are notable positive sides of his rule. And they don't spit paan in Government Offices like they did in the past. Negatives - a lot.

But is he a great CM? No.

If UP has to improve it must be divided into 5 or 7 states. 19 crore population is a big country, not a state.

I expected a cesspool of single digit IQ love-days. Pleasantly surprised to see atleast half a dozen LI readers still like to use their brains.
Yogi's comments in the past on minority communities were problematic but I haven't seen a single instance of massive scale riots in UP (except Kasganj maybe but it's difficult to call it a riot if you read more on it) nothing on the scale of Muzaffarnagar riots or instance of minority oppression. Investment has come in and given the state and country that India is, let us not forget that 5 years are not enough to get anything substantial done and a lot of projects are underway. I'd want to give him 5 more years with a very critical lens because one can not stop judging this book by its cover.

Moreover, I can afford to ignore his communal politics given that he doesn't actually oppress any community. I can do that because other options that I have lived with before were also extremely communal with their politics. During SP reign, he was appeasing the yadav-muslim sect and he succeeded. I am witness to the fact that every other appointment in police, beaurocracy, and administration was from a particular caste. I do not have to even speak about Mayawati and BSP, you probably already know. And I hate her for the fact that is so narcissistic that she spent thousands of crores of rupees to establish a park around her party's political symbol and erected a giant statue of herself while she was the CM. This is the main attraction of Lucknow btw. There are elephants (the symbol of her political party) everywhere in the capital city and the most celebrated attraction of the city is her own statue (the security of which costs hundreds of crores every year). How pathetic misuse of public money is this? And this speaks of the volumes of illiteracy when nobody opposed this and she still gets votes. Acting chief ministers and prime ministers should not be allowed to build statues and stadiums in their names. How and why does the election commission approve this? We had too many heroes to celebrate and Mayawati is not one of them. The only reason I respected her was that she was a woman from dalit community, but I realised she is not what we deserve. Moreover, SP and BSP are so desperate to win that they are enrolling family members of criminals and mafias like Mukhtar Ansari and Atik Ahmed to gain votes. And that's what BJP does too, noy saying that BJP does not have gangsters. The MLA gangsters from SPs rule shifted to BJP when they saw a change in the wind. But atleast BJP and UP's core administration does not have goons as such which is not the case for SP and BSP. Imagine having a family member of a convicted coal mafia as your power minister.

I realized that communal politics will never end in UP. I'll give BJP one more chance with congress as my other hope. As of now there's no point of voting for congress because there's no scene of it getting 10 seats let alone forming a government.
