I want to intern at Spice Route because it will better on my CV, because ofcourse its tier 1 in TMT etc. on the other hand I have heard that Quillon is also good and they pay quite alot to interns. Which one should I go for???
I don't know about any of these firms, but I would suggest in general that you should aim for experience and consider stipend as a secondary factor, unless a firm does not pay anything. I myself do not come from a privilege background and understand that stipend is essential for many individuals from tier2-3 cities, but that has to be seen from the long-term perspective of getting a job at a good place after graduation.
Quillon is one of the best places I have worked. If you are looking for experience and want to do a significant chunk of corporate law work, then Quillon is a great place to be.
As far as SRL is concerned, I have no idea about it, so I can't help you out with that.
A0 pay at SRL is around 16 inclusive of bonus (around 3-4 lakh bonus) whereas in Quillon its around 17 including bonus(around 1-1.5 lakhs bonus). Having said that, quillon has good corporate practice whereas SRL has its base in fintech/TMT. Corporate practice at SRL is not that great. SRL has 1-2 big clients for corporate which brings in the big bucks.
Ultimately, you should decide the practice area that works the best for you and intern at SRL/quillon accordingly. SRL is good at marketing on LinkedIn but that does not mean quillon does not have a name for itself in the industry. Dont even think about stipend at this stage in your internship. Does not matter if you get 10-15K rs as stipend for a month or two. Decide what suits you the best as per preferred practice area.
