Can someone please let me what is the average package for a fresher law graduate from private college if I am opting for out of campus placement? I feel depressed listening to 3-4 lakhs package. Like I expect minimum around 8-10 lakh for this 5 years degree
Not the OP, but in a similar circumstances, only judiciary/govt job seem a decent option, but that also comes with its own disadvantages and uncertainty.
Depends which private college. Jindal and Symbiosis Pune like top 5-6 NLUs. Other decent private colleges like Nirma, Christ, KIIT, Symbiosis Noida/ Hyderabad or VIPS, you can expect same as tier 3/4 NLUs
It depends. Tier 1 firms offer around or more than 15 LPA. Good in-house can range from 8 LPA to 15 LPA. Tier 2 in-house can range from 4 to 8 LPA. Chambers pay like 15 to 25 k per month. "Like I expect minimum around 8-10 lakh for this 5 years degree"- please note that some IIT grads are also doing 25 k job as freshers in TCS. Also note that unlike BTech or MBA, law is not an industrial or technology or business focused degree. I am sure if you start litigating and develop a good practice you can outearn a lot of people. It may take a decade to reach a decent stage. But I have seen people with 5 to 7 years of experience also doing reasonably well. In any of the aforementioned career choice, the important thing is you gotta stick for several years to see real income.
I don't want to discourage you since you are already depressed, but in these times so many private college students are desperate to get any job at all, and are willing to do long term assessment internships at 9-15k a month. That you feel like campus placement will get you a job without an assessment internship for about double is a big deal.
Don't fixate on the pay. It should (hopefully) eventually go up.

If it's a PPO from a law firm then you can expect a higher salary but if it's chamber practice then it's always been that low or maybe even lower..
Sometimes in house jobs also pay good, sometimes it's 4-5LPA.
Honestly depends on a case to case basis
