Any insights on which firms/lawyers have good M&A practice in Bangalore? No bar on if the firm is Tier 1/2/3/boutique. The last I read was that the M&A scene in Bangalore is not as robust as Mumbai or Delhi, and have been wondering if that has changed since.
Also, are clients in Bangalore transaction usually only start-ups/tech companies?
Most clients are venture cap funds or tech companies - you do have a fair amount of strategic acquisitions as well. Trilegal has a really good practice and so does CAM. CAM Bangalore is actually better than CAM other offices for M&A. JSA, KCO, AZB, SAM, Indus all have decent practices. Some smaller law firms are also quite good.
Reeba Chacko, Harish, Kota Chandran, anand jaychandran - they are all very good in CAM. It is the go to firm in Bangalore, definitely good to work with Reeba and her vertical.
Reeba Chacko is the undisputed boss. Nivedita Rao is also excellent. They are head and deputy head of the entire corp and M&A practice across all offices in CAM.
Trilegal also has some partners with really good work as well (Arjun Ghose and Kosturi Ghosh etc.) and KCO has a strong presence.
AZB Bangalore has had a lot of attrition at the partner level recently, but still decent with Srinath etc.
SAM has a growing presence in Bangalore with some really good corporate partners. But itβs a much smaller presence than what is listed above.
JSA and Indus also have decent and strong offices in Bangalore.
The above is purely listed based on work quality and not basis the toxicity and work hours.
Any specific Partners and teams you would have in mind in these firms? Any idea of any comparatively smaller firms that do good M&A work in Bangalore? Asking from the perspective of career development and upskilling prospects and also moving to a T1/2 later.

Also, any idea of NovoJuris and Khaitan Legal Associates (not KCO) in Bangalore?
