NLU Jodhpur placed 11 students out of its class of 80 that will graduate in 2014 in its first day of recruitments in the fourth-year – also known as day zero, beginning on 16 April 2013.
The next round for this class will now begin in July after the college returns from a two-month summer break.
A total of 14 out of 40 students who showed interest in four law firms that recruited on day zero, bagged a mix of pre-placement offers (PPO), job offers subject to internship, and offers through direct interviews by phone or in person.
PPOs are generally job offers made to students who have interned at a firm.
Amarchand Mangaldas Mumbai extended two PPOs while Delhi made one, Luthra & Luthra’s Delhi and Mumbai offices made three and two PPOs respectively, and JSA Gurgaon made one offer after interview.
Trilegal made one PPO, and after interviews also made one final job offer, and three offers subject to internships. Two out of five Trilegal offers were from Mumbai and three from Delhi.
Jodhpur’s recruitment coordination committee (RCC) 2014 told Legally India that it asked for expressions of interest from the batch’s students for each recruiter that confirms to take part in the college’s campus recruitment, and therefore there is no permanent total number of RCC subscribers in the batch at any given time.
The law school placed 14 fourth year students by 10 May after last year’s day zero for the class graduating this year with Amarchand, Trilegal and Majmudar & Partners.

correct me if I'm wrong.
NALSAR Batch of 2014 FTW
So, who all recruited from NALSAR? Did London firms also recruit from your esteemed college among these 25 students or only domestic firms recruited?
Clearly the rest of them flunked the year
I'm sure legally India cannot ignore us now. Or I say, to hell with LI, we'll get our story published with India today. Yeah we have a good relation with them. Remember them ranking us above NLS Bangalore the year we had an advertisement with them?
That should take care of our attention seeking and mud slinging wants.
Ranked by who?
@ NALSAR kids - please grow up. Cheapness never led to greatness, ego never does anything but harm. Your seniors have a lot of expectations from you. The profession also expects good things from you - maintain the standard people! It is up to you to keep the NALSAR flag flying high.
Kindly refrain from offering advice on how NALSAR 'kids' can better themselves unless you have stronger reasons to base your apprehensions upon. The institution is definitely not going downhill (unless you only judge an institute's reputation on the basis of moots in which case, I gradgingly second you - juniors, socks up!). You need to be on campus to realize the absolute academic revolution that is underway at NALSAR - I've actually never been prouder of my association with this institute.
NB: Please do not mistake any of my statements to believe NALSAR is better than the rest of the pack. I wholeheartedly disapprove of this law school rivalry business. Especially when we could have gone a lot farther had we just collaborated more often.
Anyways, no need for hurt feelings. Rest assured (especially now that I am clarifying), my objective was not to make an anti-NALSAR comment, but to tell the NALSAR "kids" what they are really doing - and make no mistake, it is indeed taking NALSAR to the dogs. Poor comments are becoming a habit with NASLAR -- I really cannot subscribe to a conspiracy theory that comments tagged "NALSAR" are from another college -- comments on almost every story on any lawschool are turned into a shit-pot by NALSAR's cheap comments, NALSAR-is-the-best song, and other similar comments tagged "NALSAR". My guess, like everyone else's, is that most of these comments are by NALSARites. In case you don't get it, this is a character and mindset issue which has nothing to do with "achievements", which NALSAR has in plenty -- despite you lamenting the present season's moot score! You would have heard of the saying "when character is lost, everything is lost". We don't want to lose NALSAR! Like you, I have the kids' best interests at heart. Now, please don't say that I have no business giving advice to your juniors :)
I am really surprised that you didn't get the idea behind my message and ended up educating me on fallacies! You seem to be a level headed person otherwise. Having tolerance for criticism takes mettle, so can't really fault you for losing your cool and getting angry.
PEACE?
Yours truly,
Sad for NALSAR
My argument was not solely that NALSAR is the victim of a diabolic plot to lower its standings through engineered anonymous comments, though such underhand means are not totally unheard of. What I was really getting at is that the same person is probably posting a number of the comments that you consider characterless, which is probable. I know that you probably think that this is probably surmised in assumptions as well. However, I for one am not a regular commenter on the website while some others are. Personally believe that most of the comments on LI are from a very small community of readers. There are definitely bad eggs in Shamirpet. Urge you not to slay the hen, though.
I don't believe I have lost my cool in the least. Unless correcting the premise of your conclusions is equivalent to me throwing a murderous fit?
A carefully brokered peace it shall be then. Try coming down to the university though - be it for judging a moot, teaching a course or whatever conveniences your profession. We aren't as immature and characterless as you've made us out to be.
NLIU I don't think have quite had Day Zero yet - is that correct?
Kian, NLUJ does not have Day Zero / Rec. Week - it has a rolling recruitment season. It may be a good idea (in terms of LI's social responsibility and goodness!) to provide a link to previous years' compares and salary tables, that LI has commendably compiled, in every story relating to recruitment - maybe as endnotes. Keep up the good work. Don't let NUJS frustrate you with non-disclosure :)
I hope these kids can cope up with the BS that some of these "high ranked" firms have on tap!!
