Juris Corp leaver Vandana Sekhri joins Amarchand; +3 associate hires

Former Juris Corp partner Vandana Sekhri, who resigned from 31 January, has joined Amarchand Mangaldas in Mumbai as senior consultant in the team of managing partner Cyril Shroff.

She will be part of the general corporate practice group in Mumbai from 1 May.

When she announced her resignation from Juris Corp on 24 January, where she had worked for seven years, she said in a statement at the time that she had decided to explore other opportunities.

It is understood that hiring discussions with Amarchand started only after that time.

Sekhri graduated from Government Law College Mumbai and is a qualified Bombay Incorporate Law Society (BILS) solicitor.

Amarchand’s senior consultant designation is understood to be senior to principal associate but junior to partnership.

Amarchand has also hired three other laterals, according to a statement from Amarchand.

NLSIU Bangalore graduate Prashanth Venkatesh is joining as a principal associate in finance in Bangalore after four years at Linklaters London.

Symbiosis Pune graduate Ajay Joseph was hired as a principal associate in the Mumbai corporate team having previously worked at from Khaitan & Co Mumbai for four years.

Symbiosis Pune graduate Harsh Maggon has been appointed as an associate in the Mumbai corporate practice, having worked for a total of five years at DSK Legal and Economic Laws Practice previously.
