"A planned merger with LakshmiKumaran was abandoned at the last minute in mid 2008. The aim was to combine one of the country’s top indirect tax practices with Vaish's leading direct tax practice. The merger did not go ahead and many lawyers commented that they were not surprised as the two firms' cultures are entirely dissimilar."
