University Law College, formerly known as the Government Law College, was established by the erstwhile Government of Mysore in the year 1948. In 1976 the college came to be known as University Law College and became a part of Bangalore University.
Curriculum
The college initially offered three year L.L.B course with Prof. M. Narayana Rao as its first Principal. However, in 1986-87, under the able leadership and administration of Principal Dr. V. B. Coutinho, five year integrated course of B.A.L.L.B replaced the three year programme. The Post Graduate department of studies and research in law was introduced in the year 1976, offering the L.L.M programme.
It currently offers masters programme in Business Law, Labour and Capital Law, Environment and Legal Order.
Background
History
The erstwhile Government of Mysore (now the State of Karnataka) started the college in the year 1948. It was previously known as the Bangalore Government Law College. Prof. Narayan Rao was the first Principal of the college. From 1964, ULC was brought under the Faculty of Law of Bangalore University. ULC started with a two-year course, and later offered a three-year postgraduate LL.B. program till 1986.

Admissions
TBC - how do you apply to join the law school? Is there a test? If so, which one? Admissions take place during the months of May-June every year. The admissions are on the basis of Class12 Board marks. The cut off os 88% followed by an interview.
Fee structure

If so, describe them. being a govt. college the fees is less. there are two categories one is the Payment category in which the fees is approx 23,000/- per year and the other is the Non-payment category in which the fees is approx 2,000/- per year. the categorisation of the fees depends on the marks and time of admission.

The ULC library is a depository for a large collection of treatises, journals, research papers, documents and other reference material on national and international law. The library has a total collection of more than 45,000 books, 16,000 journals and 18,000 other reference materials. It also houses computers with internet facility for research facility for students and teachers.
