The School of Law is a part of [http://www.christuniversity.in/ Christ University], Bengaluru. The parent university, a premier educational institution, was declared a deemed to be University, under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, in the year 2008. Since its inception SLCU has participated in various Moot Court Competitions and has steadily made its presence felt in the mooting arena as well as the legal fraternity. <br />

==2010 SLCU National Moot Court==<br />
The first edition of the School of Law Christ University National Moot Court Competition was a great success with a high level of attendance of participants as well as a display of active interest from India’s legal field and its legal luminaries. A total number of 27 teams participated in the Competition. <br />
<br />
The competition saw a high quality of participants and judges and resulted in an enticing final round between KLE Law College and School of Excellence, Chennai, where the judges were impressed with the quality of the teams represented in the final round. <br />
<br />
The Institution’s Infrastructure was appreciated by all Judges and Participants. School of Law, Christ University impressed in the fields of organizational skills, potential talent for the legal field as well as in its ability to ensure a good quality competition. <br />
<br />
The competition was inaugurated by His Excellency Sri. H.R. Bharadwaj, Governor of Karnataka and Sri. Ashok Haranahalli, Advocate General, Karnataka High Court. The Competition was concluded by then Union Law and Justice Minister Sri Veerappa Moily, Sri. Oscar Fernandes and was judged by legal luminaries like Sri. Shanti Bhushan and Sri.Uday Holla.<br />
