The university is currently located at its transit campus at Mohindra Kothi, Patiala but will move to its new 50 acre campus at Sidhuwal Village once completed by the end of 2010.

RGNUL is affiliated to UGC and approved by Bar Council of India.

History

From Wikipedia - customise The Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL) was established in 2006 to satisfy the need of having a centre of excellence in legal studies in the richest state in the country. It conducted its first entrance examination in July 2006 and classes began in September. Prof G.I.S Sandhu joined as the registrar. WHEN???

In its first year of establishment it conducted the Law Asia moot court competition.

In subsequent years has organized the commonwealth moot court competition and the Bar Council Of India Moot.

Students' Achievements

The signature law journal of the law school is 'RGNUL Law Review]]'.

As per Legally India's mooting premier league, was ranked the ninth best mooting law school in India in the 2009-10 season.

In 2010-11 session the mooting achievements of RNGUL were as follows- Pro bono Moot (Best Researcher); SP Sathe (Runners-up); NLU-D Corp Law (Winners, best memorandum (joint), best researcher); Surana IT (Semi finalist); DM Harish (Runners up);KK Luthra (Best speaker); Stetson North (Semi finalist, best speaker); NLIU-Juris Corp (Semi finalist); Surana Trial Advocacy North (Runners up), Rizvi Moot (best speaker)[1].

Campuses

Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL) started functioning at its interim campus at Mohindra Kothi, Mall Road, a heritage building at the heart of the city of Patiala. As of today it is still functioning at its interim campus, but its days there are marked, as its permanent campus at village Sidhuwal is nearing completion.Provide citation

Features of the Mohindra Kothi Campus [edit]Library The Library at the RGNUL has acquired a collection of over 20,000 volumes. Computer Labs

Every RGNUL student is expected to possess a laptop. RGNUL has two fully equipped centrally air conditioned computer labs with about twenty computers each. The labs include printers, scanners and webcams and are open during university hours but closed on holidays and Sundays.


Moot Court Hall

[edit]University Health Centre RGNUL has a health centre within the university premises. The RGNUL UHC has complete facilities for indoor admissions, minor surgeries, resuscitation equipment, vaccinations, and sterilization of equipment and stock of medicines for routine and emergency ailments. It functions for 24 hours per day. Among other efforts being undertaken by the UHC are: Gender Education, Acquiring Life Skills, Prevention of Addictions and Substance Abuse, Prevention of Sexually Transmitted Diseases, General Hygiene and Health, Psychosocial issues etc., UHC also has taken up the onus of conducting routine health check up of students and staff, especially the food handlers in the canteen. Gymnasium and Sports

The RGNUL Campus has a fitness centre exclusively for students. In addition to the gymnasium, available sports facilities for students include football, table tennis and badminton. The RGNUL cricket league, RCL, is a bi-annual competitive inter-batch cricket league.

The new campus will be fully residential and self-sufficient and will have an administrative cum-academic block, separate spacious library, auditorium, sports Complex, Boys and Girls Hostels, Guest House, Community Hall, Health Centre, Shopping Centre residences and other facilities etc.
